The reconstruction project of the only port in Atyrau undoubtedly has high priority. It was important to meet international standards. New quay walls were constructed, the infrastructural facilities, auxiliary buildings and structures and essential infrastructure was totally renewed. Seven old sunken vessels were extracted from Ural River. The port was being used to deliver cargo for infrastructure development of the Kashagan field at the artificial islands and several other Caspian Sea operations.
